The “Extended primary health care for refugees and vulnerable receiving communities in Kalobeyei and Kakuma, Turkana West, Kenya” is a two year project implemented by AIC Health Ministries in partnership with Johanniter Assistance International since October 2018. The project aimed at improving access to basic health care for refugees and vulnerable host communities, with a specific focus on mother and child health, and provision of improved eye, dental and orthopaedic health services in Kalobeyei and Kakuma wards. To achieve this, the project is working with two health facilities- Kalobeyei clinic 2 and Nakoyo dispensary to offer primary health and specialized services to the catchment population living in Kalobeyei Village 2 and 3 and Nakoyo.
Scope of Work:
Realtime was consulted to offer Outcome and impact oriented Monitoring and Evaluation services, and to build the capacity of the organization on the same.
- Development of M&E framework and procedures for the monitoring and evaluation of project activities;
- Preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned from project innovations,
- Guiding and coordinating the review of programme log frames including: review of the achievement of process, intermediate and outcome indicators;
- Documentation, review and compilation of project processes, project findings, success stories, case studies, abstracts in collaboration with project teams.
- Development of project data collection tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures in conjunction with the program team (e.g. logical framework, project performance tracking, indicators, data flow chart, M&E manuals);
- Conducting data quality checks,
- Conducting data analysis and providing feedback to project team for decision making
- Technical support during project planning meetings, review meetings
- Overseeing baseline and end of project evaluations;
Results
- Designed and guided implementation of outcome and impact oriented M&E system for the project that helped the project to achieve its set objectives.
